So much of this business is relationship building, and as a people person, I thrive off of meeting new people and hearing their stories

Natalie Walsh | Founder & Manager

As a Founder, I’ve been with Apriori Beauty from the beginning, before there were even any products! I’ve not only been able to see this Company expand and develop, but have also seen the change in myself as well, both personally and professionally. Over the past few years, I have come to learn a lot of successful business tips, all which have been instrumental in growing and maintaining a steady retail business.

So much of this business is relationship building, and as a people person, I thrive off of meeting new people and hearing their stories. Whether I’m developing a personal relationship or sharing something I love about Apriori Beauty, the first step in getting there is to just start the conversation. Instead of pre-judging those I come across, I look at everyone as an opportunity, who I can talk and share Apriori Beauty with. With this mindset, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain! It’s common for me to introduce myself to strangers just about everywhere I go and I like to begin every conversation with a compliment. Who doesn’t love hearing something nice about themselves? I know I do, plus it poses as a natural segue into skincare and health. When meeting and talking to others, you first need to be confident and believe in yourself. You wouldn’t be interested in learning about and purchasing products from someone who appeared to doubt what they were saying, would you? Of course not, which is why it’s imperative you not only know what you’re talking about, but also believe in it 100% (easy to do when sharing Apriori Beauty).

As if starting the conversation isn’t daunting enough for some, I’ve heard a lot of people ask, “what do I say?” when speaking with new and potential Clients. If I’m meeting someone for the first time, I share a product that relates to our conversation. For example, if it’s flu season, then I focus on our incredible Lifeoxylin® Cellular Defense Elixir. If the weather is changing (hot to cold / cold to hot), I introduce the Celloxylin® Enzyme Activated Micro Scrub and Hydro-Burst Moisture Intense Lotion. For every conversation topic, you’re likely to find a product you can bring up in the conversation. When I’m sitting down with a new Client, I make a point to pull out my Apriori Beauty catalog and go through it with them, showing the various products and benefits each product provides. If you’re stumped for words or unsure of how to introduce the products into your conversation, rely on your own personal experiences with Apriori Beauty. Your best selling point is your testimonial. People can hear lists of ingredients and facts, but when it comes down to it, they want to know why you use and love Apriori Beauty and what it’s done for you.

If someone brushes you off or says they’re not interested, don’t take it personally. Chances are, they’re saying “no” because they’re unsure of switching skincare or possibly unaware of the many benefits Apriori Beauty can provide their skin, health, and even financial situation. Don’t let their “no” paralyze you. Instead, make a note to reach out to them in a month or two and casually bring up Apriori Beauty into the conversation. People’s lives and situations change and it’s possible that whereas last month wasn’t right for them, they’re now in a different place and open to hearing about and trying Apriori Beauty.
Regardless of how and where you share Apriori Beauty, always be consistent. I’m committed to sharing at least one product sample a day and following up 3 days later. In addition, referrals have played a significant role in gaining new Clients. I always ask for referrals because networking is the key to success. I love to reward my Clients; they’re the foundation of my business. I offer Clients a $25 gift card for every referral of theirs that places an order of $100 or more. Clients are my priority and I check in with them frequently by sending out personal ‘Thank You’ cards or sometimes a gift card for being a loyal Client. I appreciate their continuous support and love for the products. Without them, I wouldn’t have a business.

On days where you’re feeling unmotivated to work your business, keep in the mind the weekly paycheck and additional perks you can receive just by talking about Apriori Beauty with someone new. I love getting paid every Friday. It’s rewarding because it allows me to help support my family and do extra special things for my kids. Last year, I surprised my three boys and husband with a trip to Hawaii, which was funded by my Apriori Beauty income. I look forward to treating them to another fun activity this spring. Along with being able to surprise my family with gifts, my Apriori Beauty retail business has become a steady income, where I’m able to be there for my family without working long hours. Having the freedom to make my own hours is ideal because I have three active boys, whom I’m constantly driving to sports games and practices. I love what I do and I love sharing Apriori Beauty with others. I’ve hosted Beauty Bars out of my car at football games and even at the airport. This business allows me to share anywhere, anytime. I feel blessed to be part of this incredible Company and am excited to introduce it to even more people!

“If there is anything I’ve learned, it’s to ask and allow yourself to receive support, and in turn give support when needed.”

Back in December 2014, I accomplished a major goal of mine – I graduated from massage school. Whereas school required most of my time and attention, it was extremely important to me because I was helping others reduce stress, lessen pain, and assist in their shift to self-healing. All the work and effort I put in was always worth it because I knew I was making a difference in other people’s lives.

The same can be said for my Apriori Beauty business, which is near and dear to my heart. As with massage school, Apriori Beauty has gifted me with an amazing support system consisting of mentors, accountability partners, and valued resources. More importantly, I’ve gained genuine friends who I foresee working with long into the future. For me, support has been the underlining factor in building my business. Yes, you can build and maintain a successful business on your own, but I’ve found that the more you work as a team and support one another, the more powerful and successful everyone’s business becomes. Each person brings with them a unique gift to the team. Some hold strengths in organization and commitment, while others are stronger in sales and speaking to potential Clients. If one person is unsure of how to approach a prospect, they automatically have a group to reach out to and receive feedback from. If there is anything I’ve learned, it’s to ask and allow yourself to receive support, and in turn give support when needed. I think that’s why my team’s Beauty Bars are always successful. It’s because we’re always radiating positivity and our guests are attracted to that. What we lack as individuals, we possess as a team.

In addition to the people of Apriori Beauty, what initially drew me and has kept me as an Apriori Beauty Independent Consultant are the products. There are so many cosmetic companies in this country that are causing people harm. I love Apriori Beauty’s concept of sharing because it really is about sharing as opposed to the dreaded term “selling.” Apriori Beauty is providing a product that is not only safe but produces amazing results – proof that you don’t have to sacrifice health for beauty! As someone who cares about the health and safety of others, I feel obligated to share these incredible products. Why? Because if I don’t, chances are they’ll be introduced to something else that isn’t safe nor produce the results they desire. Every person should have the choice to use a product that is safe and effective and should never have to compromise his or her health for beauty!

My suggestion for all Consultants is to take advantage of the many resources available to us through Apriori Beauty. The Consultant Back Office is full of retailing and business-building trainings, weekly momentum exercises, and Susan Twellman’s weekly “Walk the Talk” calls which always leave me inspired and motivated. Furthermore, it’s imperative you establish goals and write them down on paper. Goals are much more powerful when written because they keep you accountable and help establish your game plan for building your business. When I first started massage school, they had us write down our goals. I stated that I wanted to be working at a Holistic Center. Later when the school mailed out the letters we had written to ourselves, I had completely forgot I even wrote it, but the great thing was that two weeks prior to receiving the letter, I had just rented space in a Holistic Center. Never underestimate the power of thought or dreams – anything is possible! All in all, no matter what comes your way, focus on maintaining a high positivity ratio. Bad days will come and go and it’s not always easy to discard negativity from our life. Just as long as your positivity outweighs the negativity by at least 4:1, you’re set for productivity and success. Remember, every negative or failure in your life is an opportunity to learn and improve.

When I joined Apriori Beauty in March of 2009, there weren’t any products yet. I couldn’t even pronounce its name at first, but I knew that I had to be a part of this Company. From day one, I’ve believed 100% in Apriori Beauty, its Founders, and its mission*. Throughout these past six years, I’ve seen my business grow alongside Apriori Beauty as our product selection has expanded and more people are being introduced to the benefits of using a safe and effective skincare line. I especially love the retailing side of this business because it puts right now money in my pocket every week!

My Kindergarten report card said, “Val is a social butterfly” and to be honest, not much has changed since then. I love talking to everyone I meet and this has been extremely helpful in growing my Apriori Beauty business. People always comment on how good my skin looks and I never fail to make it known that it’s because of our amazing products. When they see first-hand how effective Apriori Beauty is, they’re instantly interested because they know these products actually work and aren’t just false promises.

I never know where my newest Client will come from. It could be someone from the gym, grocery store, a colleague from the school I work at, or even a long lost cousin! I love wearing my Apriori Beauty tees and always take my Apriori Beauty Yoga Mat with me to yoga class. It’s easy to SHARE when people ask you, “What’s Apriori Beauty?” Meeting Clients is as simple as making that connection. But, these connections need to be real and from the heart. Are you more likely to trust a total stranger or someone you actually know and who is genuine? Make it a point to get to know your prospective Clients so they’re not just a random name you handed a sample to, but rather, a real person you can see yourself talking and connecting with on a regular basis.

When it comes to gaining new Clients, one of my favorite things to do is offer a Free Mini Facial. I’ve found this to be the perfect way to help qualify a prospective Client: Are they really interested in that sample? Will they use it? How can I get their information? The answer is the Free Mini Facial! I am guaranteed to get them USING and LOVING the products through this venue. I encourage them to bring a friend or two and advertise it as a ‘Girls Day/Night In!’ Remember, introducing the products to potential Clients is meant to be a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone.

In addition to getting the products on peoples’ faces, in order for me to maintain high sales, I need to be consistent. This may mean following up with Clients, offering them specials, or even running contests – as long as I’m connecting with my Clients on a consistent basis, my business remains steady and flowing with orders. In addition, it’s imperative you address the needs of your Clients. Not only will your Clients be happy and satisfied, your sales will automatically increase. Stop selling and start serving! At Apriori Beauty, we have something that people need and the better the customer service you provide, the better your business will grow.

Turning Dreams into Family Memories

Natalie and family enjoying the surprise of a lifetime in Hawaii
Natalie and her family enjoying the vacation of a lifetime

“A few years ago, I decided to surprise my family with a vacation to Hawaii, paid for with my Apriori Beauty earnings. I established weekly and monthly goals and it paid off! I had been keeping it a secret from my husband, because I wanted to surprise him first. On Valentine’s Day, I shared the exciting news with him – the whole family was going to Hawaii over Spring break and it was already paid for! He was so happy and proud of me, which made it even more special. We waited until the morning of the trip to share the news with our two youngest sons that not only were we leaving to go to Maui, but that their older brother
Mitchell, who lives away from home for school, would be joining us. My family and I were so happy to be reunited on a beautiful island, where we had the opportunity to enjoy being all together as a family. It was one of the most memorable vacations we’ve ever had and I’m incredibly grateful to Apriori Beauty for helping me achieve this dream. I truly love what I do, Using Loving and Sharing Apriori Beauty, and am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference for others. With Apriori Beauty, dreams really can come true!” — NATALIE WALSH, Founder & Manager from CA

When I first heard the statement “you can’t fail unless you quit” at Apriori Beauty’s Making Life Beautiful conference back in 2012, something in me just clicked. I love this statement because it keeps me moving and pushing through with my business. Being part of a fun company and watching it grow from the ground up has been an incredible joy for me. I love the fact that I’m not only experiencing personal and professional growth, but that I’m also helping in changing peoples’ lives. Whether it’s improving their skin or growing their business, there’s a bigger picture … it’s not just about me.

When it comes to Apriori Beauty, I keep it simple. First and foremost, I love and use the products, which in turn makes it easy to share them. I’m constantly sharing Apriori Beauty everywhere I go and only hand out samples if the prospect I’m sharing with is willing to give me their name, email, and phone number so I can follow-up with them. When I give them a sample, I always include my business card and say, “I would love to share this incredible sample with you, but I will need your contact info so I can follow-up with you and see how much you love them.” In addition, I inform them that they’ll be added to my e-newsletter list so they can get the inside scoop on monthly specials.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed. To avoid this, I break my goals into daily activities. I’m usually up before the sun rises, so I take full advantage of this time to structure and set my plans for the day. I begin by checking my Sample list to see if I need to follow-up with any prospects. I know I can’t call someone at 4:30 am, but I can send them an email, planting another Apriori Beauty seed and inquiring about their results with the samples I gave them. Then, before I leave the house for my Corporate J-O-B, I make sure I’m armed with samples and business cards in case the opportunity to share arises during the day. A lot of times, I utilize my lunch breaks by making follow-up calls or sneaking in training, such as reading a Sharon Michaels’ book or listening to a webinar of hers. The beauty of working a full-time job and having a FUN Apriori Beauty business is that I can fit both into my busy life. It might only be a five minute conversation with someone, but every little bit counts when it comes to growing my business.

Whether you are at the beginning stages of your business or are a seasoned owner, know that being an Apriori Beauty Consultant is an incredible gift because you’re not only earning extra income, you’re working toward your dreams. The one thing I didn’t expect when I first started was that I’d constantly be learning about who I am and what I’m capable of. You’ll surprise yourself about what you can accomplish when you refuse to quit. Apriori Beauty is not a get-rich-quick business; it’s a people business, and for me, it’s about building relationships and having fun! I don’t sell, but rather, I share because it’s about giving people the opportunity to know and love the products. I’m not in a race, nor am I competing against anyone. Instead, I am working my business slow, steady and consistently to fulfill my own business and personal dreams!

There really isn’t a secret to gaining retail sales, but if I had to list one, I would say follow through is the number one component for sales. A majority of my retail sales come from repeat customers, so it’s important to go above and beyond in providing exceptional customer service. To do this, I consistently check-in with my Clients so that they know that I am always available to answer any questions they may have. The fact that the products speak for themselves makes my job that much easier. I’ve created a solid foundation by educating my Clients about the importance of a skincare regimen, but seeing a Client’s positive reaction to the products is priceless. It’s rewarding to share a product that not only performs to its promised standards, but exceeds people’s expectations.

When I meet a potential Client, I always bring up the topic of appearance or skincare. I like to lead the conversation with a focus on health and wellness with regard to skin, and usually discuss Apriori Beauty’s “Internal/External” approach. I inquire if they would like a sample and more often than not, their response is “Yes,” but that doesn’t always mean they will actually use it. This is why follow-up is key. Make it a point to reach out to them within a week of handing them a sample and ask how they are liking it. Take this time to answer questions and address any concerns. The best way to avoid handing over a sample and having it go unused is to host a small and intimate “Girls Night In,” where your guests are invited to experience the products. Ask your guests to invite their friends so you can get the products on as many faces as possible. People are more likely to purchase if they’ve sampled the products or have a friend who’s testified to them. It helps that Apriori Beauty produces immediate results, allowing customers to see and enjoy improvement in their skin within days of starting.

I meet a lot Clients through my job, where I’m the VP of Community and Donor Relations. I’d definitely be described as a people person and have no reservations approaching and starting a conversation with a stranger. When I do approach someone new, I keep an ear out for a relatable topic that I can connect to skincare and appearances. It’s interesting how you begin to look at faces differently once you start using Apriori Beauty. You can tell when someone is self-conscious about their looks; it not only affects their outward appearance, but their self-esteem as well. One of the many beauties of being an Apriori Beauty Consultant – helping others from the inside out.

“A cookie-cutter approach to this business wouldn’t be rewarding.”

I love having a business that can be customized to anyone’s needs and lifestyle.  I was raised in rural Nebraska and appreciate the value of community I learned from being a small town girl.  When I joined Apriori Beauty as an Independent Consultant, I had just moved to Arizona and knew only one person in the state.  I learned I couldn’t build the business I wanted by picking up the phone and blindly making cold calls – I tried that.  Instead, I found several local organizations and became involved in my new community by attending meetings, volunteering, and even hosting events.  What happened first was friends were made, not just business leads.  Apriori Beauty may have been the motivation for joining several groups, but I am happy to say that quickly changed.  Friends supported my business early on with Client and business referrals and I did the same for their business.  My Apriori Beauty team was soon quickly growing.

The more experienced I became at networking, the more I saw that people were attending networking events in hopes of gaining new business right then and there; however, that’s rarely the case.  Rather than going in with the intention of conducting business at the event, the goal should be to meet two or three new people and spend your time getting to know them.  Make it a point to establish a reason to follow-up, and make sure you have their contact information so you can begin the relationship.  Any future business will probably come from a referral – someone they know who might love our products or business opportunity. I encourage everyone to get off the computer, go outside and into the real world, and act on the chances presented to meet new people.  This business will challenge, push and stretch you.  Embrace that and you will see your Apriori Beauty business develop.

It is important to remember there is a balance to what we do: helping people address their skin concerns while discussing the business opportunity when there is interest.  Apriori Beauty has raised the bar in the network marketing industry.  This is not a Company based on high-pressure pitches where only a few individuals have a true opportunity to create personal success.  Apriori Beauty’s Owners Susan Twellman and Elizabeth Vervynck have created a unique and healthy product line, and have paired it with a business model and compensation plan that supports everyone.  My team focuses on training to the $300-$500 a month additional income.  It’s realistic and an achievable amount to earn within just the first two levels of the Compensation Plan. If someone is interested in building a larger business, it can be attained from just increasing the same activity it takes to reach the $300-$500 goal.

I’m having a blast!  The products are warmly received and the results make Clients very happy!  I love working with my team and seeing their confidence grow as they build their business.  I am so fortunate to count the founders of Apriori Beauty as personal friends whose strong commitment and passion for helping so many individuals is something I greatly respect and admire.

A majority of my career has been an uphill climb; but, through my determination and perseverance, I’ve been able to break against the harsh waves and continue my journey.  I’m currently the Vice President of Community of Donor Relations for the Economic Opportunity Program, an action agency that supports the community through various programs.  In addition to holding my Bachelor’s in Business Administration, I am currently studying to obtain my Master’s in Management and will have my degree by the end of 2013.  I’m blessed to have a wonderful husband of 16 years and two amazing kids, who continuously keep grounded and humble.

Apriori Beauty is my second network marketing company to work with; however, my experience with Apriori has greatly differed from past companies.  I enjoy learning about our healthy products and especially love the incredible results they bring!  My journey to manager was a ride, but from the wonderful support of my upline Jacqueline Agostinelli, how could I not make it to manager?   My determination and excitement to build my Apriori business is a goal that I remind myself daily, one day and one person at a time.  As the popular statement says, “Each one Teach one”.   While working with my team of new consultants, my focus is on supporting them and raising awareness of their Apriori business.  I look forward to expanding my business and achieving more success with Apriori Beauty.  I’m thankful that an opportunity like this exists.  With a team that is constantly supporting me and products that produce remarkable results, Apriori is the business for me.  If my determination and perseverance have proven anything, it’s that I don’t believe in giving up and know that there is always something more I can achieve.
