I began my journey with Apriori Beauty in February of 2009 when I made the decision to support the concept of developing pure, safe skincare by becoming a founding member. It was then that I made the commitment to support Apriori Beauty and am every bit as dedicated today as I was six years ago.

Apriori Beauty offers the opportunity of using and loving the products and also sharing them. That is exactly what I do every day and is the reason behind my thriving business success. I’m enthusiastic about the products and the results I’ve experienced. When I share with new people, they’re not always listening to the words coming out of my mouth but rather looking at my face as my skin is proof that these products work. I’ll be 67 this coming January and if you ask me I look and feel years younger and it’s all due to Apriori Beauty. This has definitely been a benefit when introducing Apriori Beauty. When people see that you are the walking example of what our products can do for you, they want to know more. Know that being a walking advertisement for your business doesn’t just pertain to your skin and appearance. Attitude is everything. People aren’t naive – they can tell when you’re trying to “sell” something and are likely to shut down to anything you’re saying. Passion speaks louder than words and it helps that I exude happiness whenever I talk about Apriori Beauty. Others hear the enthusiasm in my voice as I relay how the products have changed the way I look and feel. Their excitement only grows and soon they’re intrigued when they hear about the successful business I’ve created simply by using, loving, and sharing these incredible products. They also notice how I’m able to put God and my family first and still be able to run a profitable business. How many people are able to make a sustainable income by sharing products they genuinely use and love? It’s rare, trust me.

I have been able to persevere my business through various obstacles in my life. Right after becoming a Founder with Apriori Beauty, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and since then, I’ve had numerous surgeries, yet my business continues to remain strong. There were times where I was on bed rest or my energy was at extreme low, but it never stopped me from sharing Apriori Beauty. Whether it was a phone call, text message, or email, this business has given me the flexibility to work it from anywhere (including a hospital bed!) and prove to myself that nothing can keep me or my business down. Regardless of the health situations I’ve been faced with, I’ve remained positive and passionate throughout. People notice when you are passionate about what you believe in and represent, which has been the core reason for my business’ growth and ability to remain strong.

You may hear me talk about passion quite frequently and that’s because it plays a fundamental role in my business. Passionate and positive people attract others. People hear and see us and want to know what we’re doing that’s making us so happy. As Apriori Beauty Consultants, we have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to share with others. If you reach out and introduce Apriori Beauty to like-minded people, you’re likely to build a stable business full of Consultants who are just as excited and eager about the business as you are. Apriori Beauty has become an avenue for men and women to achieve their dreams and obtain success. This has motivated me in working my business, whether I’m obtaining retail sales or introducing the business opportunity to potential Consultants. This Company has not only brought me healthy skin and financial success, it’s also connected (and re-connected) me with friends who have been supportive in so many ways. I love my Apriori Beauty Team; they Make Life Beautiful.

As a Founder, I’ve been with Apriori Beauty from the beginning, before there were even any products! I’ve not only been able to see this Company expand and develop, but have also seen the change in myself as well, both personally and professionally. Over the past few years, I have come to learn a lot of successful business tips, all which have been instrumental in growing and maintaining a steady retail business.

So much of this business is relationship building, and as a people person, I thrive off of meeting new people and hearing their stories. Whether I’m developing a personal relationship or sharing something I love about Apriori Beauty, the first step in getting there is to just start the conversation. Instead of pre-judging those I come across, I look at everyone as an opportunity, who I can talk and share Apriori Beauty with. With this mindset, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain! It’s common for me to introduce myself to strangers just about everywhere I go and I like to begin every conversation with a compliment. Who doesn’t love hearing something nice about themselves? I know I do, plus it poses as a natural segue into skincare and health. When meeting and talking to others, you first need to be confident and believe in yourself. You wouldn’t be interested in learning about and purchasing products from someone who appeared to doubt what they were saying, would you? Of course not, which is why it’s imperative you not only know what you’re talking about, but also believe in it 100% (easy to do when sharing Apriori Beauty).

As if starting the conversation isn’t daunting enough for some, I’ve heard a lot of people ask, “what do I say?” when speaking with new and potential Clients. If I’m meeting someone for the first time, I share a product that relates to our conversation. For example, if it’s flu season, then I focus on our incredible Lifeoxylin® Cellular Defense Elixir. If the weather is changing (hot to cold / cold to hot), I introduce the Celloxylin® Enzyme Activated Micro Scrub and Hydro-Burst Moisture Intense Lotion. For every conversation topic, you’re likely to find a product you can bring up in the conversation. When I’m sitting down with a new Client, I make a point to pull out my Apriori Beauty catalog and go through it with them, showing the various products and benefits each product provides. If you’re stumped for words or unsure of how to introduce the products into your conversation, rely on your own personal experiences with Apriori Beauty. Your best selling point is your testimonial. People can hear lists of ingredients and facts, but when it comes down to it, they want to know why you use and love Apriori Beauty and what it’s done for you.

If someone brushes you off or says they’re not interested, don’t take it personally. Chances are, they’re saying “no” because they’re unsure of switching skincare or possibly unaware of the many benefits Apriori Beauty can provide their skin, health, and even financial situation. Don’t let their “no” paralyze you. Instead, make a note to reach out to them in a month or two and casually bring up Apriori Beauty into the conversation. People’s lives and situations change and it’s possible that whereas last month wasn’t right for them, they’re now in a different place and open to hearing about and trying Apriori Beauty.
Regardless of how and where you share Apriori Beauty, always be consistent. I’m committed to sharing at least one product sample a day and following up 3 days later. In addition, referrals have played a significant role in gaining new Clients. I always ask for referrals because networking is the key to success. I love to reward my Clients; they’re the foundation of my business. I offer Clients a $25 gift card for every referral of theirs that places an order of $100 or more. Clients are my priority and I check in with them frequently by sending out personal ‘Thank You’ cards or sometimes a gift card for being a loyal Client. I appreciate their continuous support and love for the products. Without them, I wouldn’t have a business.

On days where you’re feeling unmotivated to work your business, keep in the mind the weekly paycheck and additional perks you can receive just by talking about Apriori Beauty with someone new. I love getting paid every Friday. It’s rewarding because it allows me to help support my family and do extra special things for my kids. Last year, I surprised my three boys and husband with a trip to Hawaii, which was funded by my Apriori Beauty income. I look forward to treating them to another fun activity this spring. Along with being able to surprise my family with gifts, my Apriori Beauty retail business has become a steady income, where I’m able to be there for my family without working long hours. Having the freedom to make my own hours is ideal because I have three active boys, whom I’m constantly driving to sports games and practices. I love what I do and I love sharing Apriori Beauty with others. I’ve hosted Beauty Bars out of my car at football games and even at the airport. This business allows me to share anywhere, anytime. I feel blessed to be part of this incredible Company and am excited to introduce it to even more people!

Timing is everything!

When it came to getting momentum going for my Apriori Beauty business, timing was everything. I’ve been with this Company since the very beginning (before there were even products), but in order for my business to thrive, I had to feel and know when it was the right time for me. My love for the products was never a question. I was always sharing how amazing the products were with friends and family. Instead, it became more of when I was ready to bring others on board with me.

I began reaching out, one person at-a-time. Between working full-time and having a busy family, I needed to be careful who I was investing my time with. Relationship building became my focus. Each person I reached out to was someone I already had a relationship with. They were either co-workers or gym buddies. In fact, a Consultant of mine, as well as a new Client are both women I know through the gym. I also realized that a majority of my business relied on other peoples’ timelines, not just my own. I often received responses such as “when I finish my other products, I’ll try yours,” or “call me next month.” Through this realization, I learned how important follow-up was. Sometimes you gain success with follow up, sometimes you don’t. Either way, just keep moving on to the next person.

Two outlets that have impacted my business the most are Beauty Bars and Social Media. If you have an opportunity to either host or attend a Beauty Bar, I highly recommend it. It’s a fun way of sharing the Apriori Beauty experience with your potential Clients (and Consultants), and it gives your guests the opportunity to try the products and see the results for themselves. Seeing is believing and people like results, especially when it involves their skin! When it comes to social media, I’ve never been an active Facebook user, but I knew it would be beneficial to my business. After updating my profile picture and posting an Apriori Beauty image or two on my Facebook wall, I immediately received comments and messages from friends I hadn’t seen in years asking me for product samples. Before I knew it, I was registering new Clients and placing orders. It was at this time that I realized building a retailing business was where it’s at for me. I love getting paid every week and when my Clients are interested and ready to be Consultants, I will be there to help them get started on their own journey.

Working full-time, being there for my family, planning events, and going to the gym are just a few aspects of my crazy schedule. I’ve come to notice that the busier my schedule is, the more I actually get done. As a way to stay focused and organized, I make a list each night for the next day, which includes family, work, and Apriori Beauty. My aim is to give each section of my life the time and attention it needs. It’s all about balance and I’ve finally found mine.

When I was introduced to Apriori Beauty in 2009, I was at the intersection of “Needs and Wants” and wondered how I would ever find a way to achieve the balance, flexibility and job satisfaction I was longing for. I was clear that I needed to use my gifts and passion in a way to benefit others while earning money for my efforts. The path to this crossroad had been paved by marriage, motherhood, a 35-year career as a Dental Hygienist and 8 years in Direct Sales … but I knew there was still something missing. Then the “Ah Ha” moment of Opportunity came through via a new startup company called Apriori Beauty. They were building a bridge to “Making Life Beautiful” under the strong integrity, business experience and leadership of Susan Twellman and Elizabeth Vervynck. Expanding on my direct sales experience would be fun, and the new freedom to work alongside like-minded women through Network/Multi-Level Marketing with an amazing compensation plan seemed like a dream come true. It didn’t take long for me to discover that I not only wanted to become a Consultant, but that I also wanted to take part in leadership as a Founder. Five years later, I’m still jut as proud and happy to extend this opportunity to others, by sharing our incredible company with effective products, an exemplary vision, and limitless potential.

I vividly remember the first time I received a compliment on my skin after I had used the first set of Apriori Beauty skincare samples available only to Founders at the time (pre-launch of products). I was stunned and didn’t know what to say. I hadn’t told anyone about my new venture and was not prepared for compliments … but they came! After my 3rd compliment in one night, I turned to the woman and said “thank you” and quickly added, “It’s my business.” She asked what my business was and I told her that I was representing a new boutique skincare company, which focused on pure products that worked. She replied with what would become my first order! It doesn’t always work that way, but when it does, my response is the same – I keep it simple. I’ve found that the less I say, the more curiosity it creates. Women by nature are curious and want to know what your secret is. Apriori Beauty is the best kept secret in an industry based on hype and unfulfilled promises. Use it to your advantage in a classy and confident way. Whereas other skincare products don’t always deliver the results they pledge, Apriori Beauty is different in that our products not only give you fast and effective results, but are also all-natural, chemical-free, and safe.

I give out skincare samples on occasion but have learned that the Celloxylin® 5-step Cellular Age Advantage set can be overwhelming to new people. By breaking apart the sample strips (Crème Cleanse, Activating Tonic, Firming Serum, Eye+Lip Age Eraser, Day Defense Plus SPF 25, and Night Repair 3Deep) instead of handing over the entire strip, you’re allowing the potential client to select the product(s) they’re most interested in. I like to focus on the featured product specials of the month and always make sure my clients are in the loop with regards to sales because it’s the perfect time for them to purchase if their favorite product happens to be one of the specials. If I can help my Clients save money and get the best opportunity possible, then I’ve done my job as their personal Consultant.

“Who do you know?” is the most effective question you can ask your Clients, friends, and family. Referrals are key to not only expanding your Clientele base, but your downline as well. Have a Client who uses, loves, and shares the products? Why not get paid as well? Turn your Clients into ambassadors and recognize them for their efforts, whether it’s advertising their skincare results, referring others to Apriori Beauty, or even just being a consistent Client. You are a resource for your clients and their go-to for all things beautiful. Take the opportunity to continuously plant seeds and reap the harvest you desire.

It’s a privilege to be working “for myself but not by myself.” I’ve been blessed with a dynamic team, where everyone has the flexibility to achieve their own success as they have defined it. The relationships we develop with Apriori Beauty help expand our outlooks, as well as encourage us to continuously grow and stay committed to our business and each other as a Company. Apriori Beauty has provided the vehicle to access a highway to success. The road you choose to take is up to you. There is no short cut or secret passage that will get you there ahead of anyone else. You’ll need a full tank of gas, and choose your travel companions wisely because there’ll be speed limits, stop signs, and possible repairs along the ride. Since signing up in 2009, I’ve built a solid team and expanded my Clientele base.  I believe business building and retailing intersect, both requiring perseverance and a positive attitude.  I love watching my team gain confidence as they begin to grow and promote.  The same with my Clients – when they feel good about themselves, I feel good.  This is definitely a relationship-based business.  Before I approach a prospective Client, I get to know them and build a relationship with them.  For example, throughout the day I’m constantly meeting new people, whether it’s at my kids’ sporting events, or through friends.  I am likely to see those people again so I take advantage of the situation and make it a point to get to know them.  Once I feel comfortable and have an established relationship with them, I ask if they want to try a great product I’m using.  If the answer is “yes,” I hand them a sample and then I’ll either call them (if it’s not certain I’ll see them again in a week) or follow-up in person while we’re watching our kids’ sporting event.  It’s easy to share when you love the products and company, because you’re enthusiastic and people can tell how excited you are about what you’re sharing.  With enthusiasm and a positive attitude, comes perseverance.  It’s up to you to call your prospect.  You can’t just give someone a sample and expect they’ll call you asking to place an order.  You may hear “no” more than you hear “yes,” but don’t take it personally.  It’s not about you or how you’re sharing the products.  Maybe that person is already using skincare they love and it’s working well for them.  Move on and think of who else you can share the products with.

As a Silver Director, I take leadership very seriously, and constantly make it known to my team that I am here to support them.  To those on my team that want my support and accountability, it’s a team effort.  As I’m asking them what they’ve done this week for their business, they’re asking me the same questions.  Apriori Beauty provides support for our Consultants in various ways: Consultant Trainings, Beauty Bars, and countless tools in the Consultant Back Office.  Because of Apriori Beauty, it’s easy for me to be there for my team.

The bottom line is, there is no secret to success.  With Apriori Beauty, you’re rewarded for your efforts. If you don’t put in the time and commitment, you won’t get rewarded – simple as that.  Believe in what you’re doing, be passionate about the products and Opportunity, and stay committed to your goals.  This business is something you will constantly have to work at, but if you love what you’re doing, it’s worth the time and effort.  It’s not a get-rich-quick scheme, it’s your business and if you want to continue to reap the benefits, you will have to commit to being here for the long haul.  I say this often, but Apriori Beauty is such a young Company that there’s even more Opportunity for all of us in the future.  I look and see the future as bright and positive.  If you continue to believe in yourself and commit to your passion, you’re going to be very successful.
