My mother and grandmother were magnificent women with incredible skin. They hammered the importance of taking care of your skin from the time I could walk. They set great examples for me. The jars and bottles of skincare with “promises,” and the potions on their vanities, glittering, were the beginnings of my love for beautiful skin.
Having been in all forms of sales, from owning my own retail stores, to manufacturing sales, Regional Sales Director and finally, direct sales, I knew that I was a natural in sales, but I wanted to be able to share something, not just sell another product. I wanted to give something to women who were searching for better skincare products. It wasn’t enough for me to just have a title. I wanted more.
I was with another network marketing company, specializing in skincare, for three years. After two years and a sizable team that I had personally sponsored and trained, I realized that I truly was not happy with the company, their way of doing business, or the products. WOW! That was a rude awaking for me, especially, when I couldn’t get information from their R&D department as to what was actually IN the products. The only thing they were interested in was getting more products to market and building teams for the company. It didn’t matter how you did it, just do it! That’s when I decided to start researching and studying skincare products, leaning towards a natural line. I tried all that I could afford. I was the guinea pig, sometimes with disastrous results. Not all “natural” skincare is good for you. I finally pulled in a dermatologist to assist me, as my skin was not looking as I felt it should.
One day, I was at a networking meeting and ran into a colleague I had met a few years prior. Her name is Elise Cohen. After discussing her company and why she chose Apriori Beauty, I tested the Celloxylin® Cellular Age Advantage system of products. Afterwards, I had my skincare doctor look at my skin and the ingredients, (he was thrilled) and I was hooked. I was actually excited that finally, there was not only a line that worked, but after researching the company, I found one that I could also be proud of. Without pride in the company you represent, you set yourself up for failure. PLUS, what a great Compensation Plan!
After signing-up, I wrote down my plan and my goals, something I did once before, only this time, I decided I would take it slowly, purposefully & deliberately. Deliberate & purposeful, being the operative words because, I wanted repeat business, not just a lot of people out there testing the product and then saying, “No, I am happy with what I have.” OR worse, “I am going to try something else.” I did this by studying the ingredients, how they work with each other and what the potential customer could expect. My current customers are all repeat customers who are thrilled with the line. I guess you could say that I work like a tortoise – methodically putting one foot in front of the other. I am not the type of individual who runs toward every incentive; I run towards the end line, my end line and then move the line forward. I don’t believe in getting rich quick. Nice, but not solid for me.
My team wants to learn and is willing to do just that. I don’t mind having them sit on my shoulders, to fly by themself. I look forward to more women joining me, who want the same things I do, beginning with a great skincare product line (inside and out) to share, and a visionary company to do that with.
I network everywhere I go. I never leave home without samples and catalogs and I meet women in the most ordinary places without killing myself. One doesn’t have to reinvent the wheel with Apriori Beauty. Just live your life and see the opportunity in each person you meet.
Learning the importance of the word “NO,” builds the way you approach the business of skincare, or any business you are passionate about. It doesn’t mean “never,” it just means “not now.” I learned the importance of saying “when?” and then, I go about finding out just how to get that product into their hands without aggression. Daily, I learn more about our products and make it my business to know all that I can about skin, hair and body care.
Sometimes, I do get a bit down on myself because I set an end line for the week and I don’t always meet it. However, I know from past experience, that the end line is simply that … AND, I can move it. I see my business as a long-term business with a team of wonderful, like-minded women that I can sponsor and train. I look for women like myself who want to share a beautiful business, healthy skin, with vision and passion.
What is that vision? Better cosmetic & skincare products that don’t harm the individual or the environment. Further, I want to grow with a company that can hit the moon with its amazing products. My passion is that Apriori Beauty is just that. Theadditional bonus is that I work with unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable women in Apriori Beauty. I’d name them, but I am afraid I would leave someone out. Suffice it to say that without them, I would not have the information I need. What can be better than that? These are amazing women who allow me to stand on their shoulders, teaching me from their experience. I want to do that for those I sponsor as well. I just love this company, I believe in this company and without that, well, there is no place to jump off from and fly. Thank You Elise Cohen for helping me find THE Company to do just that.
